HISTORY OF THE CLUB

YRC of our college was started in the academic year 2002-2003. Since it was a newly started organization in the college, the students who are mostly from villages, needed much information and awareness regarding YRC. In order to clear all their doubts, the Programme Officer of YRC along with the counselors form Indian Red Cross Society of Salem District who were invited, spoke with the students. It took time for the students to realize the need for YRC in the college. Even though the progresses of YRC activities were slow in the beginning, now it is doing its activities in a very active and steady manner. More than 250 students are YRC volunteers at present. YRC started its activities first as a social activity. All the students were made to become the members of YRC by collecting a membership fee of Rs.5/- from each student.

In the academic year 2014-2015, 2015-2016 and 2016-2017, this club is headed by our Principal Dr. S. MANIMOZHI, M.Sc., M.Phil., B.Ed., Ph.D., and Co-ordinated by Dr.A. JAYARANI., Assistant Professor of Commerce.
